
Acting
From the very beginning of Deval Club, importance was given to drama as much as singing. The work of this branch has been going on continuously since the plays set up by Devasthali and Krishnarao Bawdekar around 1916. In 1954, on the occasion of the Diamond Jubilee of the organization, the drama department had won the hearts of the audience by presenting the play 'Sangeet Ekch Pyala'. The music was very loud.
Also, on the occasion of the 51st death anniversary of musician Keshavrao Bhosale, 'Sangeet Rakshasi Mahatvakanksha' as well as 'Jaydev' written by Govindrao Tembe, Govt. Ni. Dandekar's 'Shitu', Ambadas Mandgulkar's 'Sudacha Chetla Vanhi', Badal Sarkar's 'Baki Itihas', Rabindranath Tagore's 'Immersion', Albert Kamu's story based 'Adidasya' were some of the plays that Deval Club's Natyasakha kept bringing to the stage.
Shyam Manohar's 'Hruday', Dharmaveer Bharati's 'Andhayug', Mahashweta Devi's 'Hazar Churasir Maa', Prabhakar Patil's Abhiyat and in recent times Vidyasagar teacher's Dard A Disco, Himanshu Smart written and written Sunvivi. By bringing such theatrical performances on the stage from time to time and connecting the study with the changes taking place in the theater, the drama branch of Deval Club has created an independent existence on the parallel Marathi theater.
Not only for the state drama competition, the drama department also presents experiments of different themes and motifs. Shyamal Palekar, Chitra Palekar, Yogesh Soman, Atul Pethe, Abhiram Bhadkamkar, Prabhakar Vartak, Tushar Bhadre etc. Through the guidance of many colourists, the theater department has made a concerted effort to bring a holistic awareness of theater to the youth.
The Purushottam Trophy Inter-College Drama Competition is organized by this drama department. Also, the drama branch of Deval Club has won many awards by presenting its one-act plays in various places.
